Dual Lens
Mapping Technology

Dual lens mapping plays a key role in quality assurance by helping us at Quality Lab Works verify that each lens matches its design exactly. The system is used at various stages of production from in-process checks to final inspections to ensure consistency and reduce the risk of defects.

Quality Lab Works is currently the only optical lab in Trinidad and Tobago utilizing this advanced metrology technology.

Applications in Quality Lab Works

Surface Accuracy Verification

Measures both front and back surfaces of lenses to ensure they meet design specifications. This is done after machining or polishing.

Non-Contact Surface Inspection

Ideal for coated or delicate lenses, the system avoids physical contact eliminating the risk of surface damage.

High-Resolution Process Validation

Detects tiny deviations and confirms manufacturing repeatability, which is vital when qualifying equipment or batches.

Real-Time Feedback for Production

Measurement data feeds directly into our process improvement loop supporting quick adjustments like tool recalibration or material changes.

Advanced Quality Control in Lens Manufacturing

Free-Form Lens Inspection

Confirms that complex, custom lens surfaces align with prescription parameters catching even minor deviations that could affect vision quality.

Semi-Finished Lens Assessment

Evaluates lenses before final coating or surfacing to confirm base curves and thicknesses are within spec.

Early Detection of Manufacturing Issues

Helps us spot signs of tool wear, misalignment, or other process inconsistencies before they affect final product quality.

This capability enables us to apply internationally recognized inspection standards locally, providing a higher level of quality assurance in our lens production process. It also allows for more accurate validation of complex lens geometries, helping us ensure that every lens meets precise design specifications before reaching the customer. By integrating dual lens mapping into our quality workflow, we are able to detect issues earlier, reduce rework, and maintain consistently high manufacturing standards that  allows us to confidently produce lenses that meet the most demanding optical standards—setting a new benchmark for lens manufacturing in the Caribbean.

Advanced Lab
Capabilities

At our lab, we are continually investing in technology to better serve your optical needs. Our newest equipment now allows us to produce lenses with prescriptions up to -18.00 cylinder and -6.00 sphere, expanding our ability to fulfill a broader range of custom orders with precision and efficiency.
